LPKF develops and produces precision machines and technologies for material processing, originally for the production of circuit board prototypes. Today LPKF is one of the world’s leading companies in micromaterial processing with the laser. Laser beams are playing a central role in equipment used for production and development. Our high capacity laser systems are based on a strong understanding of optical systems and processes, highly precise drive and control technology and material characteristics we have acquired over the decades, supplemented by our own system software for efficient implementation of the production processes. Mircomachining of Glass by Laser Induced Deep Etching (LIDE) Micro-patterning of glass is now easier and more economical than before: The new LIDE® process by LPKF in conjunction with the LPKF Vitrion 5000 system uses the laser as a noncontact precision tool for deep micromachining of glass with unrivaled productivity and quality. The LIDE process is a two-step process. In the first step, the glass is locally laser-modified according to the desired layout. In a second step, the modified areas are removed by chemical etching. With the LPKF Vitrion 5000 laser system glass wafers and panels of up to 510 mm x 510 mm can be processed. The laser tool can be used for Through-Glass Vias (TGV) and Micro-cutting in ultrathin glass. Features:
